Tomorrow Is Our Alamo

There's a lot wrong with this once great nation.

We have become a broken home. It has been nearly 40 years since Civil strife has reached this level of unrest, and the stakes have never been higher.

Tomorrow the Senate votes on the current incarnation of the Government Healthcare Bill. The 2000 page long Bill claims to cost 849 billion dollars. Other experts say it will easily cost trillions. But regardless of the monetary cost, Government-Run Healthcare will cost us much more than that.

There is no denying our system is broken. There is no denying that changes need to be made. But acting in the interest of action is a mistake.

The Left has referred to it as the Healthcare Debate. It's a flashy term. It's not accurate, but it's flashy. There's no debate as to whether the US has the best Healthcare. None. The argument is about Health INSURANCE reform. The Left wishes us to believe that they are willing to bargin by throwing out what they suggest is compromise. They want the public to believe that those who disagree with Government Healthcare want people to die. It's ridiculous. We don't want people to die. But we don't want to accept any change just because its change. There can be no compromise on this matter. And the fact is, the Left refuses to budge on the only changes that actually would lower costs. How about tort reform? Frivolous malpractice suits are the biggest factor in the cost of Healthcare. But that doesn't help them in their quest for more power in Government. The truth is that the new Healthcare Bill will not only destroy our Healthcare system, but it will destroy our economy.

Healthcare affects every facet of life. The government can penalize you for what you eat, what activities you participate in, how long you live. Barack Obama himself said that he didn't believe his Grandmother should have gotten a hip replacement because she wouldn't live that long. If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know, I don't know what does. And yet they persisted in saying that there would be no Death Panels. But their argument really comes down to "well there might be, but we won't call them that."

It's all about marketing. Spin Control. Being Politically Correct. It's never been about doing the right thing for these people.

The debate is over. The majority of people do not want the Government in control of their Healthcare. We cannot allow our Senators to strip of us of our Freedoms. Healthcare and Global Warming are where we make our stands. This is for all the marbles.

This is our Alamo.
